The Church and The Man of God

Meet Our Senior Pastor: Apostle Robert M. Callaham, Sr.

A Lifelong Calling

Apostle Robert M. Callaham, Sr. was reared in Alexandria, Virginia, the fourth of eight children born to the late Willie and Mozelle Callaham. He received Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in 1965 and was baptized in the Holy Spirit. By age 17, he answered the call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and has faithfully served for over 52 years.

His journey in ministry is marked by faithful progression and obedience to the leadership of the Holy Spirit:

  • 1973: Ordained as an Elder by Bishop Warren Hicks and promoted to Assistant Pastor under the pastoral care of Overseer H.E. Woods.

  • 1983: Elevated to Pastor of Saint Paul Pentecostal Church.

  • 1987: Lifted to Presiding Bishop of Saint Paul Pentecostal Church, Inc.

  • 1995: Guided the church to its present location on Monroe Avenue, paying off the mortgage in just four years. The church was then renamed Saint Paul Christian Center.

  • 2013: Elevated to Apostle. We give God the Glory.

Academic Excellence

Apostle Callaham's commitment to leadership extends to his education. A graduate of T.C. Williams Senior High School, he served as Class President for four years and as National Vice President of Vocational Industrial Clubs of America.

  • Virginia State University: Graduated Cum Laude in just 3½ years with a Bachelor of Science in Technology Education.

  • Commonwealth of Virginia: Earned his Graduate Professional Teaching License in 1977 and his Postgraduate Professional Teaching License in 1989.

  • Lancaster Theological Seminary: Received his Master of Divinity Degree in 1989.

  • Further Studies: Completed additional studies at Penn State University and Drexel University.

Professional Career & Unwavering Dedication

Apostle Callaham successfully balanced a demanding corporate career without ever wavering in his dedication to his church. He retired from Caterpillar, Inc. on January 1, 2016, after nearly 40 years of service, holding management roles in Materials Distribution, Manufacturing, Systems Coordinator, and Purchasing Logistics.

His family's dedication to St. Paul Christian Center is an extraordinary example of faithfulness. When his career required the family to relocate to Pennsylvania and later Illinois, they refused to let distance hinder their ministry. For 19 years, the family commuted from Pennsylvania to Virginia every weekend. Even when living in Illinois, they flew from Illinois to Virginia for 2½ years—resulting in the Apostle missing only three Sundays during that entire span.

Family, Faith, & Fitness

Apostle Callaham has been married to his college sweetheart, Executive Pastor Sarah D. Callaham, with whom he celebrated 48 years of marriage in June 2024. Together, they have four children and four grandchildren. The family relocated back to Virginia in 2019, where he now serves as a full-time Minister of God.

He believes in complete wellness:

  • Spiritually Fit: Through fasting, lovingly spending quiet time with God in prayer, and studying His Holy Word.

  • Physically Fit: Through jogging and weightlifting.

  • Creatively Fit: Through reading and writing.

"We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We must not only speak the Word but live the Word."

Apostle Callaham's ultimate spiritual aspiration is not to have a massive church or to be viewed as someone special, but simply to do the Will of the Father. With Jesus as his Chief Pastor, he seeks to preach the Word, teach the Word, and win souls for Christ, firmly believing that his living will not be in vain.
